The Author

A storyteller drawn to the thresholds — where myth and memory meet.

Corey Lynne MacKinnon is a New Adult and Teen author based in Southern California. She lives with her partner and her five children (three of which are exceptionally furry). A lifelong obsessive of ancestry, mythology, and the places where history becomes legend, she writes stories where you don't need to look far to find a little bit of love and magic. At the heart of everything she writes is a belief in the beauty of claiming identity on your own terms and the depth of connection between people who are profoundly different from each other. When she isn't writing, she can be found watching or playing D&D, somewhere near the ocean, or lost in someone else's immersive world.

“I write the women I needed at 18 — fierce, frightened, and forging their own path.”

Lighthouse Project · In Progress

YA Paranormal Romance

It's 2010, and 17-year-old loner and lighthouse keeper Maebel Hollis has only two dead friends and one is a cat, so falling for new stud in town and prodigy violinist Easton Hayes feels like her first shot at normal—until she learns he's a ghost inhabiting a dead boy's body, and her family caused the 1855 shipwreck that killed him.

When a rare solstice eclipse arrives, they both face an impossible choice: free the souls she's been imprisoning (and lose Easton forever) or protect the town and Easton's second chance at life—and "It's complicated and doomed either way" isn't a Facebook status.
